A cold and frosty morning saw Air Cadets from South and West Yorkshire Wing assemble at Thornes Park, Wakefield on 15th January 2012, for the inter-Squadron cross country race.  Askern Squadron entered a team into the “Junior” (13-15 male/female). And “Youths” category (15-17 year old males)

Recently Askern Air Cadets had a formal Christmas dinner at the hub Doncaster.

The night started with all the Cadets meeting up at squadron to be taken to the dinner.

By 6pm the cadets were at The Hub where they found their way upstairs to the room.

Sgt G Patterson (ATC) met the Cadets and showed them into the room that was setup for them, staff and guests.

4 Askern Air Cadets recently attended RAF Church Fenton for the opportunity to fly in powered aircraft.  The flights allow the cadets to experience flight first hand and also put into practice what they have learnt in the classroom.

Three Askern Air Cadets recently got the opportunity to attend RAF Syerston to go gliding. The station houses 643 Volunteer Gliding Squadron, who teach cadets about gliding and train them up to go solo and beyond.........
